Upcoming Meeting Dates

November 2-4, 2021

The FEMA National Advisory Council will meet November 2-4, 2021. During this meeting, NAC subcommittees will present recommendations on the topics of equity, potential improvements to the public and individual assistance programs, workforce support, risk-informed decision making, and ideas of restructuring FEMA. Moreover, the NAC will discuss and consider with selected experts and leadership how to best approach the consideration of issues of equity, climate adaptation, and readiness in 2022.

Past Meetings

May 4-6, 2021

The FEMA National Advisory Council met virtually May 4-6, 2021. This meeting was an opportunity for FEMA leadership, FEMA staff, and NAC members to hold important discussions in support of the NAC’s 2021 recommendations.

December 1-2, 2020

The FEMA National Advisory Council met virtually on December 1 and 2, 2020. The group formally received their 2021 research charges from the FEMA Administrator, as well as participated in two panels relating to their new charges. Notes from this meeting are pending finalization and will be posted soon.

November 17-18, 2020

The FEMA National Advisory Council met virtually on November 17 and 18, 2020. The group voted on and passed 30 recommendations, as well as presented their 2020 Report to FEMA leadership. Notes from this meeting are pending finalization and will be posted soon.

July 29 - 31, 2020

The FEMA National Advisory Council met virtually on July 29, 30, and 31, 2020. The group held a discussion with the FEMA Administrator and leadership team, as well as with a panel of experts relating to their research charges for 2020. They also spent significant time broken down into subcommittees working to address these charges.
