Four FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers Closing but Help Still Available

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – The following disaster recovery centers will close as follows:

 

  • At 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17:
    • Camuy Country Club
      Ave. Country Club int. PR-119 km 2.5

    • Centro Deportivo de Baloncesto
      Calle Lorenzo Chico
      Isabela, PR 00662
       
  • At 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18:
    • Centro Gubernamental Juan Cancel Ríos
      PR-140
      Barceloneta, PR 00617
       
    • Centro de Diagnóstico y Tratamiento
      Desvío Zona Industrial, PR-198
      Las Piedras, PR 00771

 
After the centers close, survivors whose homes or businesses were affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria can still get updates about applications, learn about the appeals process or check the status of their claim the following ways:

  • Log into their account at DisasterAssistance.gov
  • Visit any open disaster recovery center; to find the nearest one visit FEMA.gov/DRC
  • Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-FEMA (3362). Persons who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use a TTY may call 800-462-7585. Toll-free numbers are open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Recovery officials encourage Irma and Maria survivors who registered for disaster assistance with FEMA to stay in touch. If survivors change addresses or phone numbers they should contact FEMA to update their information. Missing or incorrect information could result in delays in receiving assistance.
