GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – The disaster recovery center in Lajas will close Tuesday, July 31 at 3 p.m.
The center is located at Coliseo Juan E. Lluch, PR-135 km 0.8 in Lajas.
Survivors can still visit any of the 57 recovery centers that will remain open. The center nearest Lajas is:

After the center closes, disaster survivors whose homes or businesses were affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria can get updates about their applications and learn about the appeals process the following ways:
- Log into their accounts at DisasterAssistance.gov
- Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-FEMA (3362). Persons who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use a TTY may call 800-462-7585. Toll-free numbers are open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Visit any disaster recovery center. To find one, visit FEMA.gov/DRC.
Recovery officials encourage Irma and Maria survivors who registered for disaster assistance with FEMA to stay in touch. If survivors change addresses or phone numbers they should contact FEMA to update their information. Missing or erroneous information could result in delays in receiving assistance.
