Claims Office Advocate Team

The Claims Office Advocate Team was established to help you navigate the claims process. The Advocate Team can assist you in several areas, including:

  • Completing and submitting your NOL.
  • Checking the status of your claim. 
  • Completing additional claims paperwork. 
  • Providing supporting claims documentation. 
  • Answering questions about the claims process.

Paula is a member of the Pueblo of Santa Clara and their former Director of Emergency Management. She was a FEMA Tribal Relations Specialist/Tribal FIT and Co-Chair of FEMA’s Tribal Affairs Work Group.

The mission of the Advocate is to ensure the Claims Office and processes are equitable, claimant-centric, accountable, and transparent. The Advocate hosts local events and speaks directly with community members to best understand community needs and to provide support and information to claimants. The Advocate also reports issues brought to their attention by the community directly to the Claims Office Director to seek resolution.
