FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Kansas to supplement state, local and tribal recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding from July 14-21, 2023.
Severe winter weather is expected to take aim at much of the Midwest this week so emergency management professionals are urging residents and business owners to be ready for everything from snow covered roads and power outages, to wind chills well below zero.
