Cooperating Technical Partners Program

FEMA is looking for partners to work together in maintaining up-to-date flood hazard maps and other flood hazard information.

With over 20,000 communities in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), there is a significant challenge keeping flood hazard maps current. The Cooperating Technical Partners Program is an innovative approach to create partnerships between FEMA and communities participating in the NFIP. Other partners include regional and state agencies, tribes, territories and universities that have the interest and capability to become more active participants in the FEMA flood hazard mapping program.

Learn more about flood hazard mapping processes or read FEMA’s guidelines and standards to support the Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) program that are required for flood projects.
