CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Hours of operation for the Hurricane Bret Disaster Recovery Centers will change on Monday, according to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Texas Division of Emergency Management officials. Starting Monday, Sept. 20, operating hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day Monday through Saturday. Centers are open at the following four locations:

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Despite the severity of hurricanes sweeping the Atlantic Coast, disaster relief for Hurricane Bret will not be interrupted, report federal and state officials. "We will have a staff working in South Texas as long as we are needed here," said Brad Gair, federal coordinating officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Texas Division of Emergency Management (Texas DEM) will open a Disaster Recovery Center in Donna, and close the center in McAllen. The Donna center will be located at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Parish Hall, 306 S. Daniel Salinas Blvd. Starting Monday, September 13, the center will remain open until further notice. Hours are 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The McAllen center will close at 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 12.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Checks totaling $831,593.28 in disaster housing assistance grants have been issued to victims of Hurricane Bret, state and federal officials announced today. Thus far, 911 checks have been mailed. "This early in the recovery process the concern of the State of Texas and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is to make sure hurricane victims have access to safe, secure and sanitary housing," said Brad Gair, federal coordinating officer for the disaster recovery.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Texas Division of Emergency Management (Texas DEM) will open Disaster Recovery Centers in Corpus Christi and Alice. Center openings were announced at nine other locations earlier. The Corpus Christi center will be located at the RTA Building, 1812 Alameda, starting Saturday, September 11 and will remain open until further notice. Hours are 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday.
