WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced yesterday that federal aid has been made available for the District of Columbia to supplement the local recovery efforts in the area affected by severe storms during the period of June 29 to July 1, 2012. Federal funding is available to the District of Columbia and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms in the District of Columbia.
