DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. -- Today (Nov. 17) is the last chance to call or go online to apply for federal disaster assistance. Residents who suffered damage to their homes as a result of severe storms and flooding from July 19 to Aug. 7, 2010, can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by phone at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or on their smart phone at m.fema.gov. TTY users should call 1 800-462-7585.

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — Workshops where residents can learn ways to reduce impacts from future flooding are being offered in Glenview and Northbrook. Mitigation specialists from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are hosting workshops in Illinois on small projects that can be undertaken by an individual homeowner at a reasonable cost.
