Jefferson City, Missouri – Beginning in December 2007, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided more than $495 million in disaster assistance for nine separate disasters that hit the state. FEMA worked closely with the State of Missouri and local governments to assist Missourians in recovering from the disasters. The assistance included:

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) currently open in Fredericktown will transition to a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) on Monday, Aug. 3. Hours for the DRC are Tuesday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday Aug. 1 will be the last day of operation as a DRC.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Disaster Recovery Centers in Polk and Jasper Counties will transition to Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs) on Monday, July 20. Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be available at the DLOCs to meet with residents and business owners to answer questions about the SBA disaster loan program, help complete disaster loan applications and accept completed applications. The DLOCs will be located in Jasper and Polk Counties at the following locations:

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The registration deadline for disaster assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is August 18 for those impacted by the May 8 - 16 severe storms, tornadoes and flooding. Recovery officials urge Missouri residents who have not yet done so to register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), (TTY 1-800-462-7585). Phone lines are open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
