WILLISTON, Vt. -- Federal disaster aid has topped $1.1 million for two Vermont counties impacted by severe storms and flooding in mid-June.  Addison and Franklin counties received the first of Vermont's three presidential disaster declarations this summer on July 15, making local communities eligible to receive federal assistance.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that federal disaster aid has been made available for Vermont to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area by severe storms and flooding during the period of June 14-17, 2008.
