FEMA announced today that federal disaster assistance is available to the state of Iowa to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding from May 20-21, 2024.
FEMA is opening a Disaster Recovery Center in Houston on May 25, to provide one-on-one help to Texans affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, flooding and straight-line winds that began April 26.
The Disaster Recovery Center in Sulphur has new hours to help Oklahomans affected by the April 25-May 9 storms continue their recovery.
– Residents in Massachusetts who experienced damage from the storms and flooding that took place Sept. 11-13, 2023 in the designated counties of Bristol and Worcester are eligible to apply for FEMA assistance under the new simplified and expanded Individual Assistance program. While many may have already reported their damages to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, local government, community organization or even spoken to someone from FEMA, this does not mean they have applied for federal assistance with FEMA.
Survivors should be aware that con artists and criminals may try to obtain money or steal personal information through fraud or identity theft after a disaster.
