APPROVES MAJOR DECLARATION FOR HAWAII [https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20220215/president-joseph-r-biden-jr-approves-major-declaration-hawaii] Release Date: 二月 15, 2022 WASHINGTON -- FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Hawaii to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, flooding and landslides during the period of Dec. 5-10, 2021. Federal funding is available to eligible state and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe winter storms in the City and County of Honolulu and Maui County. Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide. Benigno Bern Ruiz has been named as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected areas. Additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further assessments.
