Ascension Parish School Board Receives $6M More in Disaster Aid

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Ascension Parish School Board will receive nearly $6.1 million for permanent school repairs following the August 2016 floods. The recently approved funding will help with campus-wide repair efforts at St. Amant High School.

COVID-19 Emergency Declaration

On March 13, 2020, the President declared the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic of sufficient severity and magnitude to warrant an emergency declaration for all states, tribes, territories, and the District of Columbia pursuant to section 501 (b) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, 42 U.S.C. 5121-5207 (the “Stafford Act”).  State, Territorial, Tribal, local government entities and certain private non-profit (PNP) organizations are eligible to apply for Public Assistance.

Harvey households covered by FEMA group flood insurance should prepare now to buy standard flood insurance by Oct. 24

AUSTIN, Texas – Many families affected by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 did not have flood insurance.

 

As part of its disaster assistance, FEMA provided Group Flood Insurance Policies (GFIP) to 6,704 households across counties impacted by Harvey.
