Deputy Chief Counsel for General Law

Dan joined FEMA in 2007 as a CORE legislative attorney.  Since that time, he has served in a number of leadership and management roles in FEMA OCC.  Among other things, he stood up two new legal divisions and served as Counselor to the Chief Counsel.  Dan helped lead the successful implementation of the Sandy Recovery Improvement Act at FEMA in 2012 and 2013.  He is also the architect of FEMA’s You Rock! Recognition program.  Prior to joining FEMA, Dan worked in the Office of the General Counsel at DHS Headquarters.  Prior to joining DHS, he served as a Senior Associate Independent Counsel responsible for the investigation and prosecution of a former Cabinet Secretary and other senior level Executive Branch officials.

Dan is a proud graduate of Notre Dame Law School and The Johns Hopkins University.
