The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region 8 is working to generate updated flood hazard information and Base Level Engineering data for 27 counties in eastern South Dakota.  One effort resulting from this was to restudy and update flood risk information in Davison County. FEMA will be participating in an open house in Mt. Vernon to discuss the revised preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) issued on March 25, 2022.

Join the City of Mt. Vernon, Davison County, the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management, and FEMA on Wednesday, September 21 to review this project.
