
Erin C. Hoffman currently serves as the Assistant Administrator for the National Preparedness Directorate, where she leads efforts to enhance the capabilities of emergency managers at all levels through the development of doctrine, training, education, exercises, and community preparedness support.
Prior to her current role, Erin held several other executive positions within the National Preparedness Directorate, including Deputy Assistant Administrator, Director of the Office of National Exercises and Technological Hazards, and Director of the National Integration Center. Over her career with FEMA, she has taken on numerous senior leadership roles across the organization, including with the Office of the Administrator, the Office of Policy and Program Analysis, and the Response Directorate.
Before joining FEMA in 2012, she served as a trusted advisor to senior officials in the Department of Homeland Security in the Office of the Secretary, as well as the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security. In these roles, she provided policy guidance on a broad spectrum of issues, including emergency management, biological and chemical terrorism preparedness, emerging threats, risk management, and transportation security.
Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Virginia Tech and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh.
