Welcome Remarks
Linda Mastandrea

Speaker Presentation
Susan Frick, MSW, LSW
Social Worker/ Recruitment-Education Coordinator
Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center
People with dementia have trouble planning, carrying out a task, and thinking clearly. These changes in cognitive ability can put the person at risk and this is especially true in an emergency. Ms. Frick will discuss how critical disaster preparedness is for any dementia caregiver, and how often those who support the person with dementia make plans to address daily needs, but they do not always make plans to address what would be needed in an emergency, such as floods, fires, earthquakes, or storms. Dementia Friend USA: https://dementiafriendsusa.org/
