Event Details

The FEMA-supported, city-run vaccination clinic will be hosting Deaf Vaccination Day with accommodations for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community.

Now that Philadelphia has moved into Phase 2, anyone over the age of 16 who lives or works in Philadelphia is eligible to receive a free COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine. Deaf Vaccination Day for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community will be held at the Esperanza Community Vaccination Site (ECVC). The site will provide the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community with ASL and Deaf interpreters as well as a Spanish-speaking Deaf interpreter. The ECVC entrance is at 4th and Bristol and walk-ups are welcome. Interpreters and access and functional needs assistance are also available every day at the site, just ask any staff member for assistance.

  • When: Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 9 am ­­– 4 pm

Media Instructions: 

  • Please park on the street near the 4601 W Bristol Street Esperanza CVC entrance. There will be no parking available in the Esperanza Parking Lot. Due to ongoing clinical operations, media access to the vaccination area will be excluded from clinical sites. Media access will be outside the facility only. FEMA will share b-roll and still photos of the event’s clinical operations upon request.
  • COVID-19 Precautions: In accordance with local health and safety guidelines, members of the media should wear masks, observe social distancing, and bring distancing equipment (e.g., boom poles). Please pool resources where possible. 
  • Media wishing to attend must RSVP to Valerie Amato at valerie.amato@fema.dhs.gov, no later than 5pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 in order to be added to the site access roster.
