- The deadline to apply with FEMA for disaster assistance is Nov. 30. Survivors may apply by visiting DisasterAssistance.gov, checking the FEMA mobile app, or by calling 800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585). The toll-free telephone lines operate 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. PST, seven days a week.
- 1,589 individuals and households have been approved for more than $21 million in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program.
- More than $22.5 million in U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loans have been approved for 199 homeowners and renters and eight businesses as of Nov. 30.
Housing Assistance:
- More than $17 million in grants approved for housing repairs or replacement for 1,055 homeowners.
- Nearly $4 million in grants have been approved for personal property, transportation and other disaster-related serious needs for 1,382 applicants.
- 2,333 home inspections have been issued with 99 percent completed.
- FEMA has begun licensing-in of eligible survivor families from Jackson County into temporary housing units.
- Temporary housing is provided one of two ways: recreational vehicles (RVs) and Manufactured Housing Units (mobile homes).
- The units are placed in commercial parks or in group sites that will be constructed by FEMA for this purpose.
- Survivor housing units are chosen by FEMA based on the survivor family composition and needs, as well as to ensure that requirements for access or functional needs are met.
- Ongoing participation in the program, which can last until March 2022, depends on each survivor’s efforts to find a permanent housing solution and following the rules established by the park and FEMA.
Outreach to Survivors:
- There have been two Speaker’s Bureau events in Jackson County, providing information regarding FEMA programs throughout disaster-affected communities.
