The Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office is hiring full-time positions to support the processing of claims and provision of compensation to claimants impacted by the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire.

One year ago this month, President Biden signed the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Assistance Act, which provides compensation to individuals, businesses, nonprofits, governments, and Tribal Nations for losses resulting from the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire and subsequent flooding. Since the passage of the Act, the Claims Office has established and staffed public facing offices.

FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Louisiana to supplement state and local response efforts due to emergency conditions resulting from the seawater intrusion beginning Sept. 20, 2023, and continuing.
