Cameron Hamilton is a longtime public servant. His roles in the U.S. Navy and the federal government have distinguished him as a leader, medic and tactical expert. Additionally, these roles reflect his steadfast focus on protecting the homeland.
Hamilton’s career in public service began when he entered the Armed Forces in 2005, as a fourth-generation service member. He enlisted in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman during the Global War on Terror where he served on SEAL Team Eight for four overseas deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. This included two deployments to Afghanistan to directly support combat operations.
Hamilton continued his service at the U.S. Department of State where he supported crisis response teams and the Bureau of Counterterrorism. He was later recruited to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to work as the Director of the Emergency Medical Services Division. In this role, he was responsible for the oversight of nearly 4,000 EMTs, first responders and Operational Medical Programs that protect the Homeland. His work has included the development and implementation of all-hazard plans, including those for chemical, biological and radiological terrorism and response-related events.
