JOE [https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20250121/fact-sheet-recovery-glance-port-st-joe] Release Date: February 26, 2019 As of Feb. 25, unless otherwise noted   Since the federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Michael, Port St. Joe residents have received more than $98 million in total federal funds, including national flood insurance program claims, FEMA grant assistance and U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loans: * 345 National Flood Insurance Program claims have been paid for a total of $38.9 million. * 1,313 individuals and households have been approved for more than $7.7 million in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program. * SBA has approved more than $51.4 million in low-interest disaster loans, including $39.7 million for homeowners and renters and $11.7 million for businesses. Housing Assistance: * More than $6.7 million has been approved for basic housing repairs for 954 homeowners. * 2,481 home inspections have been issued with 99.8 percent completed. * 19 survivors have not provided FEMA with the necessary information from their insurance settlements to complete their disaster assistance registration. * Through Disaster Survivor Assistance outreach more than 1,354 survivors were connected with disaster resources and recovery partners for needs beyond what FEMA can provide. * 13 survivor households are checked into hotels through the Transitional Sheltering Assistance. * The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has installed 475 blue roofs in Port St. Joe, representing 475 families who can live in their homes while they make permanent repairs. * 3 households are licensed-in in Port St. Joe under FEMA’s Direct Temporary Housing Assistance program. Debris Removal: * More than 1.7 million cubic yards of debris has been removed in Gulf County. Outreach to Survivors: * Disaster recovery centers in Port St. Joe first opened Oct. 26 and have assisted 3,590 visitors.   ###
