TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – If you are a survivor of Hurricane Michael who registered for disaster assistance and your situation changes, you should notify FEMA.
Registration is now closed. However, informing FEMA of any changes to your contact information, insurance settlements or newly discovered additional damage helps avoid delays in getting you the assistance you need. Contact FEMA if you need to ask questions about a letter you received.
You can reach FEMA if you:
- Call the disaster assistance helpline at 800-621-3362 or 800-462-7585 (TTY) from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., local time, seven days a week until further notice. Multilingual operators are available.
- Go online to DisasterAssistance.gov.
- Visit a Disaster Recovery Center. To find the location of a nearby center, go online to FEMA.gov/drc.
The deadline for applying for disaster assistance loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration has also passed. But, like FEMA, the SBA is remaining in Florida to help. If you have questions about the SBA’s low-interest disaster loans, contact SBA’s Disaster Assistance Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955. The deaf and hard-of-hearing may call 800-877-8339. Email the SBA at disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. You can also visit SBA’s website at sba.gov/disaster.
