Four Disaster Recovery Centers to Permanently Close

San Juan, Puerto Rico — The temporary Disaster Recovery Center (DRCs) in Humacao will close permanently on Dec. 1, 2022, at 1 p.m. DRCs of Arecibo, Orocovis and Río Grande will close permanently on Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. Operational hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday until they close.

After DRCs close, survivors can still view the status of their application online at or by using FEMA’s mobile app. Individuals can also call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362 to discuss their case with a FEMA representative. Press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish and 3 for all other languages. People who use a relay service such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, provide FEMA the number for that service. Phone lines operate from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week.
