WASHINGTON -- This June, FEMA celebrated its LGBTQIA workforce and PRIDE all month long with several special events, including displaying an inclusive rainbow flag at FEMA National Response Coordination Center for the second time in the agency’s history. Similar displays were made at FEMA's 10 regional headquarters across the country.

“FEMA is always proud to join the nation in celebrating PRIDE month and the incredible contributions our LGBTQIA community brings to the agency’s mission and our country,” said FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell. “This year, I was honored to partner with our PRIDE employee resource group to reinforce our agency’s commitment to becoming a more diverse agency that embraces the humanity, dignity and worth of those we serve before, during and after disasters.”
