Connecticut National Guard assists medical supply distribution for COVID-19 pandemic response
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (March 30, 2020) — Connecticut National Guard Spc. Zorina Molina (left), a 143rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion culinary specialist, and Spc. Rakeem Lewis, a 1048th Medium Truck Company transportation specialist, organize boxes containing personal protective equipment at a warehouse in New Britain, Connecticut. The Connecticut National Guard’s role at this location is to provide logistical support for the state’s healthcare system by assisting in distribution of personal protective equipment, medical supplies and medical equipment in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Personal Protection Equipment Arrives at JFK International Airport
NEW YORK (March 29, 2020) — A commercial carrier landed at John F. Kennedy airport carrying gloves, gowns and masks for distribution in the hardest-hit states caring for coronavirus patients. The first plane, funded by FEMA, will distribute most of the supplies in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Coast Guard escorts USNS Comfort into New York Harbor
NEW YORK (March 30, 2020) — U.S. Coast Guard, New York Police Department and New York Fire Department assets, provide security escort for USNS Comfort’s arrival into New York Harbor. Coast Guard Cutters Shrike and Sitkinak, Maritime Safety and Security Team New York and crews from Coast Guard Station New York and Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod conducted the escort as Comfort arrived to assist in the COVID-19 response.

USNS Mercy sailors prepare to receive patients
LOS ANGELES (March 29, 2020) — U.S. Navy Sailors prepare for incoming patients aboard the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH-19). Mercy deployed in support of the nation's COVID-19 response efforts and will serve as a referral hospital for non-COVID-19 patients currently admitted to shore-based hospitals. This allows shore-based hospitals to focus their efforts on COVID-19 cases.
