GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – Puerto Rico’s Central Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resiliency (COR3) request for an extension to fixed cost estimates under the Section 428 Alternative Procedures for Hurricane Maria has been granted. FEMA, the Commonwealth, and Applicants are authorized to continue to develop and accept fixed cost estimate agreements for damage caused by Hurricane Maria. Given the magnitude of the impacts of Hurricane Maria, FEMA recognizes a significant workload remains on the part of applicants, COR3 and FEMA, in order to complete the fixed cost estimates for infrastructure projects in Puerto Rico. FEMA and COR3 will work together to establish achievable milestones and specific timeframes for completion of the fixed cost estimates.
