OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma residents who suffered damage from the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred May 7 to June 9 have one week left to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The registration deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019.
Designated counties for homeowners and renters include: Alfalfa, Canadian, Cherokee, Craig, Creek, Delaware, Garfield, Kay, Kingfisher, Le Flore, Logan, Mayes, Muskogee, Noble, Nowata, Ottawa, Okmulgee, Osage, Pawnee, Payne, Pottawatomie, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa, Wagoner, Washington and Woods.
Federal disaster assistance for individuals and families can include money for rental assistance, essential home repairs, personal property losses and other serious disaster-related needs not covered by insurance.
FEMA registration is quick and easy and there are multiple ways to register:
- Online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
- Phone 800-621-3362 (voice, 711/VRS-Video Relay Service) (TTY: 800-462-7585). Multilingual operators are available (press 2 for Spanish)

SBA low-interest disaster loans are available to homeowners, renters, businesses and private nonprofit organizations. Applicants can apply for a low-interest disaster loan online using SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.
