RALEIGH, N.C. – Disaster recovery centers in Wallace in Duplin County and Havelock in Craven County will soon close permanently. However, help is just a phone call or a mouse click away.
The Duplin County center is located at:

Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Wednesday
Closing permanently: 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5
The Craven County center that is closing is located at:
Former rue21 Clothing Store
537 Hwy. 70 W, Suite 103
Havelock, N.C. 28532
Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday
Closing permanently: 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6
Another Craven County center in New Bern will remain open until Thursday, Dec. 13.
Individuals and businesses in counties included in the North Carolina federal disaster declaration for Hurricane Florence may still register for assistance before the Dec. 13 deadline by:
- Calling the disaster assistance helpline at 800-621-3362 or 800-462-7585 (TTY) anytime from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. local time seven days a week until further notice. Multilingual operators are available. You can update your contact information, ask questions about a letter from FEMA, get information about FEMA home inspections, or learn how to appeal a FEMA decision.
Going online to DisasterAssistance.gov or DisasterAssistance.gov in Spanish.
Downloading the FEMA mobile app or the FEMA mobile app in Spanish.
Downloading the ReadyNC app.
Visiting any of the recovery centers that remain open. To find center locations and current hours, download the FEMA mobile app, the ReadyNC app, or visit FEMA.gov/DRC. Center hours and operations are adjusted based on visitor demand. The centers are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, until further notice. All are closed Sundays.
