Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
The FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program provides funding to enact mitigation measures that reduce the risk of loss of life and property from future disasters. Projects are selected based on priorities determined by the state. FEMA provides a cost share of up to 75 percent for approved projects.

Mitigation Community Outreach
FEMA Mitigation’s Community Education and Outreach teams provide information on how to rebuild and minimize the impact of future disaster events. Staff locate at Disaster Recovery Centers were they can meet with disaster survivors looking form information on disaster recovery programs. They also set up at hardware stores and home improvement were they can meet with the public and offer tips on how to rebuild or repair a damaged home.
