GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – The United States Department of Labor extended the filing deadline for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) to February 9, 2018.
Managed by the Puerto Rico Department of Labor and funded by FEMA, DUA provides unemployment benefits and re-employment services to individuals who became unemployed due to Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Unemployed individuals must register with the Puerto Rico Department of Labor.
Since the program started on September 21, 2017 DUA has disbursed $2,428,610 in unemployment assistance.
