Mobile Disaster Recovery Center to Open In Drumright

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will provide application assistance to those impacted by the Aug. 3-14 wildfire in Creek County at a Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) opening at the First Baptist Church in Olive, OK.

“This additional disaster recovery center will make it easier for people in the Drumright area to have access to face-to-face information about assistance,” said State Coordinating Officer and OEM Deputy Director Michelann Ooten.

“Traveling can be difficult in rural areas. In order to reach out to the community, we are bringing a Mobile Disaster Recovery vehicle to reach those impacted by the devastating fire,” said Federal Coordinating Officer William J. Doran III.
The MDRC opens Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 and will remain at this location for seven days through Sept. 10, 2012 at 9372 S. 433rd West Ave., Drumright, OK 74030.

Hours of Operation –Tuesday, opens at 1:00 p.m. then 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday – Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday

The Disaster Recovery Center in Mannford will remain open until further notice.

Registering for assistance before visiting an MDRC is recommended because it will shorten applicants’ time at the center. However, phones will be available for persons not able to register ahead of time. Visiting a center is not required to be considered for assistance.

Representatives from FEMA and SBA will be available at the MDRC to meet face-to-face with applicants and provide recovery information, answers to questions about available programs, and assistance in filling out applications.

Written materials about various assistance programs and other agencies will also be available to individuals and business owners. FEMA does not distribute cash, checks, debit cards or vouchers at MDRCs.
