President Clinton signed an emergency declaration, FEMA-3125-EM, for the state of Arkansas, to provide emergency temporary housing to residents after severe weather struck Mississippi County.
Kentucky's governor requested Federal disaster relief in the wake of severe weather that hit the state on April 16, 1998.
Up to 50,000 residents and 18,000 businesses were impacted when a landslide ruptured a gas line in San Benito County, Calif.
State and Day County, South Dakota officials were assessing the potential for damage due to Spring flooding.
- Lawton, Okla. was shaken by an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter Scale.
