CERT Rodeo Patient Carry

A group of five Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members works together to transport an "injured patient," another one of the members simulating that role. Members are standing across the entire frame of the photo and wearing reflective vests and green hard hats. They are holding the plank waist level as they work to move the patient to safety.

At the CERT Rodeo held in Humble, Texas each year, teams are asked to practice their patient carry skills. Teams worked together to transport three patients using their backboard, chair, and blanket carry skills. At this station, teams must assess injuries and carry one patient at a time using each of the three methods.
