These documents provide guidance concerning the types of physical flood risk reduction projects FEMA may fund under its Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs. Flood risk reduction measures minimize potential flood-related damages to structures, including home and businesses, and infrastructure, including roads and critical services such as water and power generation, hospitals and emergency response. The purpose of the Policy is to more fully describe flood protection options available under the Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs.
