Region IX: Forging Partnerships for the Best Community Service
This page describes the success that resulted from planning interactive engagement opportunities with key partners to bridge gaps, build trust, and strengthen the relationship between FEMA and the communities involved. It is intended for FEMA staff, along with state and community officials, mitigation and urban planners, and other individuals interested in how the Risk MAP program and project cycle can benefit their community's resilience by addressing the issues the community cares about the most.
Region IX is performing the Open Pacific Coast (OPC) Study in California by analyzing the coastline using new, more detailed methods and technologies. As part of the OPC Study, Region IX is working collaboratively with various state and federal partners to co-design interactive workshops that would successfully educate these communities about their risk and how to integrate these findings and resources into their resilience-building efforts.
