Region II: Increasing Engagement Through Telephone Town Halls
This page describes how tactics, like hosting a telephone town hall, can effectively increase opportunities for community engagement in between designated Risk MAP meetings. It is intended for FEMA staff, along with state and community officials, mitigation and urban planners, and others interested in how the Risk MAP program and project cycle can benefit their community through increased participation in Risk MAP meetings.
Considering the duration of ongoing mapping projects, and the challenge of drawing a large attendance at Open House meetings, FEMA Region II was looking for different, resource-effective methods to engage more frequently with community members in between the Risk MAP project cycle meetings.
