The Office of the Flood Insurance Advocate Annual Report
The Office of the Flood Insurance Advocate (OFIA) advocates for the fair treatment of policyholders and property owners by providing education and guidance on all aspects of the National Flood Insurance Program, identifying trends affecting the public, and making recommendations for program improvements to FEMA leadership. This report addresses five key issues that have emerged over the course of the year the OFIA has been established in the four primary areas of focus in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) - flood insurance, flood hazard mapping, Hazard Mitigation Assitance (HMA) grants, and floodplain management.
