FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Minnesota to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms and flooding from April 11-30, 2023.
The application period is now open for the FEMA Region 5 Virtual Internship Program, an opportunity for students living in or attending colleges or universities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin to get hands-on training in the growing field of emergency management. These unpaid positions will offer students the chance to learn about FEMA programs and services and gain real-world experience with the potential for future full-time employment at FEMA or another federal agency.
Representatives from FEMA will host a Flood Map Information Open House for communities in Dodge County, Minnesota, on April 11, 2023, from 5 – 7 p.m. CT. The open house will give residents a chance to review preliminary versions of the recently completed Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report and its accompanying preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs).
