The Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS), on behalf of Springs Valley Community School Corporation, has applied for funding under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) to demolish the Springs Valley Gymnasium locker room wing and construct a new multi-purpose tornado safe room and locker room facility.


The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) will host the 9th Annual Tribal Nations Training Week virtually for state, local, tribal and territorial emergency responders.

The application period is now open for the FEMA Region 5 Virtual Internship Program, an opportunity for students living in or attending colleges or universities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin to get hands-on training in the growing field of emergency management. These unpaid positions will offer students the chance to learn about FEMA programs and services and gain real-world experience with the potential for future full-time employment at FEMA or another federal agency.
