INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE IN DESOTO COUNTY 3,835 homeowners and renters have been approved for $13,175,643 in federal grants through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program. This includes: * $8,949,507 in Housing Assistance grants for home repair, home replacement, and/or rental assistance. * $4,226,137 in Other Needs Assistance grants to replace essential household items and for other critical disaster-related expenses. * 667 homeowners and renters have been approved for rental assistance. * 2,599 home inspections issued; 2,502 completed. * DISASTER SURVIVOR ASSISTANCE (DSA) visited 2,619 households in DeSoto County. U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SBA has approved $3,232,700 in low-interest disaster loans to 55 applicants in DeSoto County. PUBLIC ASSISTANCE DeSoto County was approved for assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures and permanent work.
