Biden, Jr. made additional assistance available to the state of Alaska by authorizing an increase in federal funding for public assistance projects undertaken as a result of an earthquake on Nov. 30, 2018.    Under the major disaster declaration issued for the state of Alaska on Jan. 31, 2019, federal funding was made available for public assistance, hazard mitigation and other needs assistance at 75% of the total eligible costs. Under the President's order today, the federal share for public assistance has been increased to 90% of the total eligible costs.
