WASHINGTON — The whole-of-America response to fighting the
COVID-19 pandemic continued today, as critical FEMA-procured medical
supplies like masks, gloves and hand sanitizer were moved from a
Frederick, Maryland, warehouse to help states, territories and tribes
in the fight against the virus.

Meanwhile, another alternate care facility is being built out in
Loveland, Colorado, and decontamination system set up in Austin,
Texas. FEMA continues to expedite movement of commercially pre-sourced
and procured critical supplies from the global market to medical
distributors in various locations across the U.S. through Project
Airbridge.

As of April 30, Project Airbridge has completed 104 flights with an
additional 31 scheduled or in transit.  Five flights landed
yesterday, two each in Chicago, two in Los Angeles and one in New
York.  Four flights are scheduled to land today, three in Chicago and
one in Los Angeles. 

Through Project Airbridge, the following supplies have been delivered
from overseas manufacturers to the U.S. and into private sector supply
chains from March 29 to April 30:

 	* More than 768,000 N-95 masks.
 	* More than 825 million gloves.
 	* More than 75.5 million surgical masks.
 	* More than 11.6 million surgical gowns.
 	* More than 2.2 million thermometers.
 	* More than 648,000 face shields
 	* More than 198,000 coveralls.
 	* More than 109,000 stethoscopes.

MARYLAND DISTRIBUTION CENTER PROVIDES HUB FOR EQUIPMENT

FREDERICK, MD. (MAY 1, 2020) — A FEMA logistics specialist stages
a pallet of personal protective equipment at the Frederick
distribution center for loading on trucks. The warehouse is acting as
a hub for FEMA-procured supplies like masks, gloves, hand sanitizer
and respirators that is being sent to help states, territories and
tribes fight COVID-19.

ALTERNATE CARE FACILITY SET FOR LOVELAND, COLORADO

LOVELAND, COLO. (APRIL 30, 2020) — Officials from FEMA, HHS and
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers tour an alternate care facility in
Loveland. FEMA directed USACE to build out a temporary facility for up
to 195 beds, addressing Colorado’s request for additional hospital
bed space for anticipated COVID-19 patients,

FEMA RECEIVES MILLIONS OF PPE SUPPLIES FROM TAIPEI REPS IN HOUSTON

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (APRIL 30, 2020) — Representatives from the
Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston visit a FEMA
distribution center to present a donation of 1 million face masks and
thousands of personal protective equipment to support healthcare
workers on the front lines against COVID-19.

BATTELLE DECONTAMINATION SYSTEMS GET SETUP IN AUSTIN, TEXAS

AUSTIN, TEXAS (APRIL 29, 2020) — Battelle and Austin Watershed
Protection Dept. staff work to install Battelle Critical Care
Decontamination Systems at the Travis County Exposition Center in
Austin.  FEMA and HHS are coordinating delivery and set-up of
Battelle machines, will be used to decontaminate previously worn N-95
respirator masks.

COMFORT'S MEDICAL TEAM COLLECTS SAMPLES FOR COVID-19 TESTING

ABOARD USNS COMFORT (MAY 1, 2020) — Lt. Mary Catherine Taylor
collects a sample for a COVID-19 test aboard the hospital ship USNS
Comfort. All personnel aboard the ship are being tested as Comfort is
transiting the Atlantic Ocean. The ship is returning to Naval Station
Norfolk, Virginia, following its COVID-19 response mission in New York
City, caring for COVID-19 and non COVID-19 patients.
