Taylor Worbington

Taylor Worbington
Youth Preparedness Council

Region 4 - Florida

Taylor is a 12th grade student from Florida with an interest in the formation of extreme weather events and the ways people can plan for and respond to emergencies. She was drawn to the national YPC by the opportunity to work alongside FEMA and her peers to develop a preparedness project that can make positive contributions to individuals and communities.

As part of the Region 4 YPC, Taylor spoke to elementary school students about the emergencies and hazards common to Florida. Following her presentation, she led an activity that taught students how to create their own emergency plans. She recently began training in Psychological First Aid and with the National Weather Service.

Beyond her YPC efforts, Taylor has assumed various leadership and volunteer roles, including president of the Life Preparedness Club and vice president the National English Honor Society. She is historian of the Hispanic Honor Society, as well as a member of K9s for Warriors, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Junior Ladies, and the Link Crew national student leadership program. She is highly ranked in her junior class and was selected to serve as a junior marshal at her school’s 2022 graduation ceremony.

Taylor enjoys traveling to remote locations and learning about environmental science and pharmacology. She is a national soccer champion, a sport she has played for more than 13 years.
