WASHINGTON — The whole-of-America response to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic continue, as frontline responders and medical staffs are honored -- from Oregon to New Mexico.
National Guardsmen continued their steady support, with food distribution in North Carolina, while FEMA coordinates more Project Airbridge flights for critical medical supplies distribution.
As of May 12, Project Airbridge has completed 132 flights with more than 30 flights scheduled or in transit. Two flights landed Monday in Chicago, with another flight scheduled for today.
Through Project Airbridge, the following supplies have been delivered from overseas manufacturers to the U.S. and into private sector supply chains from March 29 to May 10:
- More than 1.3 million N-95 masks.
- More than 921 million gloves.
- More than 91 million surgical masks.
- More than 15.9 million surgical gowns.
- More than 2.3 million thermometers.
- More than 1 million face shields.
- More than 392,000 coveralls.
- More than 109,000 stethoscopes.
- More than 370,000 oxygen masks.
- More than 250,000 swabs.
- More than 160,000 cannulas.
More than $5.7 billion has been obligated to assist with emergency protective measures. In the last 24 hours that amount includes $1 million to Michigan and $8.7 million to New Jersey.
Vietnam Vets Honor VA Medical Staff in Oregon
ROSEBURG, Ore. (May 11, 2020) — Members of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 805, show support for the Roseburg Veterans Affairs staff for their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Roseburg VA healthcare system serves approximately 26,000 veterans across five southern Oregon counties and one in northern California.

Air Force Flyover Celebrates Frontline Responders in New Mexico
CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. (May 11, 2020) — Air Force pilots from the 27th Special Operations Wing fly over Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales, N.M. The aircraft flew over hospitals from Portales and neighboring town Clovis, to show support for the frontline workers who have treated COVID-19 patients.

DOVER, Del. (May 11, 2020) — Soldiers with the Delaware National Guard and its Joint Task Force listen in at a Division of Public Health session on COVID-19 contact tracing. Contact tracing is the process used in public health to find and reach out to the contacts of someone testing positive for an infectious disease.

Antibody Testing Continues at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia
MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. (May 11, 2020) — Airmen assigned to Moody AFB’s 23rd Wing pose for a photo during a COVID-19 Tier 2 screening Monday, at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. NC National Guard Assists with Food Distribution in North Carolina
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (May 11, 2020) — Pvt. 1st Class Nakiya Saunders, assigned to the 505th Engineer Battalion, assists with food distribution at the Providence Kitchen in Winston-Salem. The N.C. National Guard is working with North Carolina's Emergency Management, Department of Health and Human Services and local food banks to help support COVID-19 relief efforts.
