Applying Prior Claims History Reset

Under Risk Rating 2.0: Equity in Action (RR 2.0), claims history may be used as a rating variable. Prior Claims History surcharge is applied when a RR 2.0-rated policy renews after filing the first claim. Upon filing the first claim, previous qualifying claims will be considered in the Prior Claims History surcharge. This document describes how a policyholder can reset the structure’s prior claims history to zero by submitting supporting documentation certified by the community in writing that the structure has been mitigated based on specific mitigation criteria.
