EAP Suicide Awareness Brown Bag
EAP and WorkLife Initiatives engage and acquaint participants with techniques, identifying risk factors, resources to share in helping others, and resolving problems as they apply to work and family. The Office of the Chief Component Human Capital Officer, Employee Services is proud to present the first in a series of employee engagement events on suicide awareness. The first two sessions will be available to all FEMA employees on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 500 C Street, SW, NRCC-Mezz Level (M01). To accommodate employees agency-wide, the first session will run from 10:00-11:00 am and the second session will run from 2:00-3:00 pm.
Participants will learn statistical facts, how to identify and recognize the risk-factors, and what to do to provide immediate help. Guest Speaker, Cynthia Wagner, FOH/EAP Consultant, will share information needed to engage employees in finding solutions to critical problems in the workplace, home and community to make them safe. Pain isn't always obvious and, for some, it's too difficult to talk about the pain.
If you wish to participate, but cannot attend in person, call in at 1-800-320-4330 PIN #167907. Take the time to learn what to do now, so you're ready to be there for a friend or loved one when it matters most. For more information, email FEMA-HC-Worklifeprograms@fema.dhs.gov.
