2020 Individual Assistance Symposium
As of March 19, 2020: due to the Administrations’ travel and social distancing guidance regarding COVID-19, FEMA is postponing the IA Symposium. We will be in touch with our state partners in the coming weeks on future planning.
The IA Symposium will bring together federal, state, tribal, and territorial officials to enhance knowledge of FEMA IA programs and policies and build IA implementation capacity during disaster operations. The Symposium will be three days of roundtable discussions, breakout sessions, and presentations where participants will share innovative approaches and develop new partnerships. Participation is by invitation only – FEMA must accept your registration prior to attending the Symposium.
Registration for the Symposium will close on April 7, 2020. The intended audience is state, tribal, and territorial (STT) IA Officers; voluntary organizations; other FEMA components and partner federal agencies. Upon acceptance, FEMA will send confirmation emails with the official invitation and travel arrangements details. Do not make any travel arrangements until you receive the confirmation email.
Please follow the following steps to register for the IA Symposium
Step 1 - Fill out the online EventBrite registration form sent to you by FEMA. If you are accepted, you will be notified via email. Proceed to Step 2 after receiving the confirmation email.
Step 2 – Your confirmation email will provide information on how to complete the National Emergency Training Center (NETC) Online Application (formerly the Form 119). Once your NETC Online Application has been processed, you will receive a Welcome Packet from the Emergency Management Institute.
Attendees are expected to participate in all three days of the Symposium. Housing accommodations will be provided at EMI.
