Deputy Assistant Administrator, Logistics Support

Carla Gammon serves as FEMA’s Deputy Assistant Administrator for Logistics Support, Logistics Management Directorate, Office of Response and Recovery.

The Logistics Management Directorate provides a coordinated national logistics capability to respond to the needs of state governments and citizens during major disasters and emergencies.  The Directorate maintains supplies and equipment as well as commercial contracts and agreements with federal partners to respond effectively and efficiently to large-scale disasters.  Ms. Gammon served as one of four Resource Section Chiefs in the National Response Coordination Center for 6 years.  

Ms. Gammon served in the U.S. Air Force including assignments as a director of personnel for 32,000 employees in Europe, military city manager for 5,000 Airmen and families and global transportation officer at United States Transportation Command.  In her first 10 years, she served as a weather reconnaissance and air refueling navigator in C-130 and KC-135 aircrafts.  Ms. Gammon earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Master of Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from Air War College.
